Overtraining Causes Olympic-Sized Problems

Pages 112-118 | Published online: 12 May 2016

Abstract

Overtraining is a problem that many physicians, athletic trainers, coaches, and athletes face when striving for improved performance. The challenge is to know how much training is too much for each athlete before overtraining symptoms occur. Researchers seek to determine whether a point exists at which intense training compromises performance.
