Abstract
SnA and (PyH)2SnA3 have been isolated by the interaction of the dihydrate of tin(II) chloride and the pentahydrate of tin(IV) chloride, respectively, with pyrogallol (H2A) in the appropriate ratios. The stoichiometry of the complexes was determined by analysis and confirmed by potentiometric titrations. SnA and (PyH)2SnA3 were characterized by IR and thermal analysis. A 1H NMR study of (PyH)2SnA3 as well as X-Ray powder pattern of both compounds are reported.
