Abstract
The polychelates of Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Zn(II) and Mn(II) with the poly-Schiff base of 5,5′-methylenebis(3-bromosalicylaldehyde with o-toluidine (3,3′-dimethylbenzidine) have been prepared. All the polychelates are dark colored and insoluble in common organic solvents. Their structures have been proposed on the basis of their electronic and infrared spectra, magnetic susceptibility, thermogravimetric and elemental analysis.
