Sonochemical synthesis and characterization of a nanostructured 3-D lead(II) coordination polymer with 4-methoxybenzoyltrifluoroacetone

Abstract

Nanoparticles of a 3-D coordination polymer, [Pb2(mbtfa)4] n (1) (Hmbtfa = 4-methoxybenzoyltrifluoroacetone), have been synthesized by a sonochemical method. The nanomaterial was characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, IR spectroscopy, and elemental analyses. Compound 1 was structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The structure of 1 shows the compound is triclinic and consists of 3-D polymeric units.
