Abstract
Treatment of [Ru(NO)Cl3(PPh3)2] with one equivalent of 3,5-dibromosalicylaldehyde in the presence of triethylamine gave the ruthenium(II) nitrosyl complex [Ru(NO)(κ2-C,O-salBr2)Cl(PPh3)2] (1). Interaction of [Ru(bpy)2Cl2]·2H2O with one equivalent of 5-chlorosalicylaldehyde in ethanol/N,N′-dimethylformamide afforded the bis(2,2′-bipyridine)ruthenium(II) complex [Ru(bpy)2(κ2-O,O-salCl)](PF6) (2). Complexes 1 and 2 were well characterized by infrared, proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopies along with microanalyses and their molecular structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.
