Abstract

Herein, an octanuclear complex [Mn84-O)4(phpy)8(MeOH)4]·MeOH·H2O based on 5-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-3-pyrazole (HphpyH) has been successfully synthesized and characterized. The compound can self-assemble to form nanoparticles (NPs) by nanoprecipitation with PEG-5000. [Mn84-O)4(phpy)8(MeOH)4]·MeOH·H2O NPs have a low IC50 (half maximal inhibitory concentration) of only 44 μg/mL (2.3 μM) on HeLa cells. The results show that [Mn84-O)4(phpy)8(MeOH)4]·MeOH·H2O NPs are able to inhibit cell proliferation and migration in vitro.
