Abstract

Syntheses of bischalcogenides and Mo(0) and W(0) complexes of bis(2-diphenylphosphinoimidazol-1-yl)methane (1), bis(5-diphenylphosphinopyrazol-1-yl)methane (2) and bis(5-diphenylphosphino-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)methane (3) are described. The reactions of 1-3 with aq. H2O2 or elemental sulfur afforded corresponding bis(chalcogenide) derivatives 4-6 and 7, respectively. The reactions of 1-3 with [M(NC5H11)2(CO)4] (M = Mo, W) resulted in the formation of respective chelate complexes, cis-[M(CO)4{CH2(1,3-C3H2N2PPh2)2}-κ2P,P] (8, M = Mo; 9, M = W), cis-[M(CO)4{CH2(1,2-C3H2N2PPh2)2}-κ2P,P] (10, M = Mo; 11, M = W) and cis-[M(CO)4{CH2(1,2,4-C2HN3PPh2)2}-κ2P,P] (12, M = Mo; 13, M = W). The molecular structures of 5, 6 and 9 were confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies.
