Abstract

More libraries are assessing collections to improve diversity and better meet the needs of the populations served. The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth is one of those libraries doing just that and is taking it one step further by challenging vendors to do the same. The presentation highlighted specific events that initiated the project, the objectives within the project, challenges that presented themselves and the solutions created, details of communicating with vendors around diversity needs, the impact on the collection, and identified future steps.
