Abstract
The liquid crystal transition temperatures for two homologous series of novel fluorophenyl esters incorporating the 1,4-disubstituted bicyclo(2. 2. 2)octane ring system are reported. The esters exhibit nematic phases. No smectic phases could be observed. The effect of the presence and the position of the fluorine substituent on the liquid crystal transition temperatures of the esters is discussed.
