Abstract
The A.C. conductivity and complex dielectric constant (relative permittivity) as function of temperature 300<T<500 K measured at different frequencies (f = 5, 10, 15, 20 and 100 kHz) for polycrystalline samples of p-diiodobenzene (hereafter p-DIB) are presented. The main feature of the behavior of electrical parameters clarified that, the compound undergoes a structural phase transition at ≈ 327 K. The interpretation of the behavior of the obtained parameters is outlined and correlated to the crystal structure of the two phases.
