Abstract
Temperature dependence of electrostrictive properties above Tε max, represented by the field-related M 11 and polarization-related Q 11 coefficients, has been reported for the Pb[(Ni1/3Sb2/3) x Ti y Zr z ]O3 (with x + y + z = 1, x = 0.08, and y = 0.44–0.48) ceramics which were synthesized near the morphotropic phase boundary. A very low piezoelectric activity above Tε max observed in measurements, confirms the existence of polar regions in the paraelectric phase. The presence of such polar regions has already been postulated on the basis of pyroelectric measurements.
