Crystal growth and related dielectric prperties of two ferroelectric–incommensurate systems: Rb₂ZnCl₄ and [N(CH₃)₄]₂ZnCl₄

Abstract

We report the results of the dielectric measurements performed on Rb₂ZnCl₄ and [N(CH₃)₄]₂ZnCl₄ crystals grown by various methods. The dielectric constant along the ferroelectric axis shows a large thermal hysteresis: it is connected with the presence of various defects which appear during and after the crystal growth.
