Abstract
A sample of 647 girls between the ages of eleven and sixteen years, attending a Roman Catholic voluntary aided single sex secondary school, completed the Francis scale of attitude towards Christianity and a short form of the Junior Eysenck Personality Questionnaire. The data demonstrate that theory locating religiosity within Eysenck's three‐dimensional model of personality, generated from studies conducted among young people within co‐educational non‐denominational schools, holds equally true among girls in a single sex Catholic school. According to Eysenck's model, it is neither neuroticism nor extraversion, but psychoticism which is fundamental to religiosity
