On the movement of grain boundary dislocations in recrystallizing interfaces

Pages 1395-1399 | Received 10 Jun 1981, Accepted 23 Jun 1981, Published online: 13 Sep 2006

Abstract

The movement of grain boundary dislocations in a recrystallizing boundary in aluminium has been shown by the observation of oblique slip traces left behind a migrating interface. This indicates that the moving grain boundary retains the structure of the stationary boundary. The observed movement cannot, however, completely account for the migration using a dislocation mechanism for migration.
