Abstract

A study has been made of the changes in the strain-ageing behavior of AgC1 produced by the addition of cadmium. In the temperature range 271–362 K and for cadmium concentrations up to 3000 p.p.m. the representative curve is found to consist of six distinct regions. An interpretation of some of these regions is given in terms of the interactions between dislocations and defects taking place in the material. At 500 K the only effect on strain-ageing the material is that of recovery.
