A comment on the electrical resistivity during phase separation in alloys

Pages 561-564 | Received 09 Nov 1979, Accepted 28 Apr 1980, Published online: 20 Aug 2006

Abstract

Recent papers on the effects of phase separation on the electrical resistivity are considered and it is shown that some of their conclusions are at variance with the behaviour expected from pseudopotential theory and with experiment. In particular these are (1) the sign of the initial deviation in resistivity from the random-alloy value which may have positive or negative values, and (2) the significance of the electron mean free path.
