Lambert Schuwirth

LAMBERT SCHUWIRTH was trained as an MD at Maastricht medical school. Since 1990 he has been involved in medical education, in particular in assessment. His research has been on validation of various written examinations. Recently, however, his research has moved away from studies into individual assessment instruments and has focussed more on assessment programmes. He is or has been an advisor to many Dutch royal medical societies in matters of assessment and to various British royal colleges and the General Medical Council. At present Lambert Schuwirth is a Professor of Medical Education at the Department of Educational Development and Research at Maastricht University, with a chair in research into innovative assessment approaches.
