When the above article was first published online, the journal, volume and page numbers J Caring Sci 12:344351 were incorrectly given for the reference Masters K. 2012. Student response to team-based learning and mixed gender teams in an undergraduate medical informatics course. The correct reference is SQUMJ 12(3):344–351. This has now been corrected in the online version.

The authors apologise for this error.
