ABSTRACT

Restriction of heat dissipation from the cylinder can facilitate to reinforce the performance of the engine. The engine cylinder and components which are coated with various materials are used for low heat rejection from the cylinder. Nanomaterials have encompassed numerous advantages over other conventional coatings. The present study gives us the complete overview of different nanocoating parts of an existing diesel engine with biodiesel as a substitute fuel and also it focuses on the detailed analysis on biodiesel production methods. This review will give a clear idea regarding various coating methods used for IC engine applications. The outcomes of coatings on engine performance and emission traits of IC engine are reviewed.
