Abstract
The results of a study aimed at the determination of the concentration of Rhodamine-B dye at parts per billion (ppb) levels from remotely-sensed optical reflectance spectra of marine and fresh water are described. An estimated signal is derived from spectral radiometer data using an improved cross correlation technique. In applying this technique use is made of the fact that some a priori information is available regarding the spectral distribution of the signal produced by the dye. The procedure for calibrating the signal estimate with ground truth data is described.
