Topical steroids should be offered initially for symptomatic plasma cell vulvits and surgery avoided.

1. Biopsy and histology are key to the diagnosis of plasma cell vulvitis.

2. We recommend managing plasma cell vulvitis initially with topical steroids followed by maintenance application.
