Ajit Kumar Parwani

Ajit Kumar Parwani is the Department Coordinator and Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Institute of Infrastructure Technology Research and Management (IITRAM), Ahmedabad, India. He has completed his Ph.D. at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, India, in 2013. He has over 15 years of teaching and research experience. His research interests include heat transfer, inverse heat transfer, computational heat transfer, renewable energy, and internal combustion engines. He has delivered several invited talks, keynote speeches and conference presentations. He has published 34 papers in international journals and conferences. He has also filed an Indian patent title “Simultaneous reduction of NOx and CO2 using exhaust gas recirculation and carbon capture.” He has conducted several workshops, short-term training programs, and seminars. He has two ongoing research projects on inverse heat transfer funded by SERB-DST, Government of India, and Institute of Plasma Research, Government of India. He is the editor of three books on Recent Advances in Mechanical Infrastructure part of the Lecture Notes in Intelligent Transportation and Infrastructure book series published by Springer Nature, Switzerland.

Palaniappan Ramkumar

PL. Ramkumar is an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department at IITRAM, Ahmadabad. He served as a lecturer in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, KK Birla Goa campus, Goa, India for 8 years. He has over 15 years of teaching and research experience. He completed his graduation in Mechanical Engineering from Madurai Kamaraj University in 2003. He obtained M.E. degree in Computer Aided Design from Anna University, Tamilnadu, India in 2008 securing University rank with Gold medal. He received his PhD from BITS PILANI in the year 2016. His area of research includes experimental analysis of manufacturing processes, process modeling, computer aided analysis and optimization. He has published several research papers in the international journals/conferences. He has filed two Indian patents titled “Vibration Assisted Multi-Purpose Cutter” and “Fabrication of Implant Screw Required in Dental Prosthesis using Rotational Moulding Mechanism.” He has written/edited a book titled “Recent Advances in Mechanical Infrastructure” in the Lecture Notes in Intelligent Transportation and Infrastructure published by Springer Singapore. He has an ongoing research projects funded by SERB-DST, Government of India. He is a life member of various prestigious societies which includes Institute of Engineers (MIE), Indian Institute of Metals (IIM) and Hong Kong Society of Mechanical Engineers (HKMSE).

Filippo de Monte

Filippo de Monte is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at University of L’Aquila, Italy. He received his MS and PhD in Mechanical Engineering both from University of L’Aquila, Italy, in 1989 and 1993, respectively. He was a Visiting Ph.D. student at the Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge, Cambridge, UK, in 1992. Also, he was a Visiting Professor at Michigan State University, USA, in the period 2007–2014 (two months per year). He is author of about 160 publications in international and national journals, conference proceedings and book chapters in the following main topics: (1) heat and mass diffusion in homogeneous and porous media; (2) inverse heat conduction problems; and (3) parameter estimation. He is a reviewer for various prestigious journals. He has also held editorial positions at the Open Thermodynamics Journal, and currently at the Mathematical Problems in Engineering. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and was a Senior Member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). Also, he is a member of the Organizing Committee of the “Inverse Problem Symposium - IPS,” since 2009, and member of the Steering Committee of the “International Conference on Inverse Problems in Engineering, ICIPE,” since 2012.
