Selected Papers from the 4th International Conference on Recent Advances in Mechanical Infrastructure (ICRAM-2022)

&

The 4th International Conference on Recent Advances in Mechanical Infrastructure (ICRAM-2022) was organized by the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Institute of Infrastructure Technology Research and Management, Ahmedabad in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology, Bhilai during December 16-18, 2022.

The purpose of the conference was to provide a platform for academicians, researchers, and industry professionals to exchange their views, ideas, experiences and collaborate for expediting progress in the field of thermal, manufacturing, infrastructure planning, design, and controls.

The program consisted of keynote sessions with eminent speakers: Dr. Hamid Reza Karimi, MAE, Distinguished Fellow IIAV, Fellow ISCM Department of Mechanical Engineering, Politecnico dibMilano, Milan, Italy, Dr. Debajyoti Bhaduri, School of Engineering, Cardiff University, Dr. Seshasai Srinivasan, Chair, Software Engineering Technology W. Booth School of Engineering Practice & Tech., McMaster University Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and Dr. Lailesh Kumar, Senior Research Scientist, Pinetreepos Magnesium Co. Ltd., Suncheon-Si, Jeollanam-do, South Korea. Also, technical paper presentations covering a wide range of topics in Mechanical Infrastructure were held.

The received manuscripts of the conference went through a peer-review process by at least two reviewers. Forty-four manuscripts were selected for presentation in the following three different tracks: (1) Recent Advances in Thermal Infrastructure; (2) Recent Advances in Manufacturing Infrastructure; and (3) Recent Advances in Infrastructure Planning, Design and Control.

The six best-presented papers on track “Recent Advances in Thermal Infrastructure” were invited to submit an extended version of their papers after the conference which was again reviewed by two reviewers. This special issue of HTE is brought out for the publication of those selected six papers that contain cutting-edge information on heat transfer advancements. We hope it will motivate many academicians and industrial professionals.

We would like to thank all the reviewers for their time and effort in reviewing the papers for this special issue. We are honored to work with Editor-in-Chief of Heat Transfer Engineering, Professor Afshin J. Ghajar. We are indebted to him for his careful editing of the final versions of the papers published in this special issue, for the opportunity to publish this special issue, and for his dedicated support for the entire process, without which this special issue would not exist.
