Abstract
In a few cases, outstanding teachers model the philosophy and theoretical principles that they advocate in their scholarship. Wayne Brockriede was such a teacher. The congruity between the teaching and scholarship of Wayne Brockriede was present in several dimensions of his teaching: (1) his methods of philosopher, arguer, and critic; (2) his personal and mentor relationships; and (3) his connoisseurship and playfulness with ideas.
