Abstract

In this present article, we deal with the propagation of Rayleigh surface waves in the nonlocal orthotropic thermoelastic layer which is lying over a nonlocal orthotropic thermoelastic half-space in the context of the dual-phase-lag model. This problem is considered in the context of Eringen’s nonlocal elasticity theory. A vector-matrix differential equation is obtained which is solved by an eigenvalue approach. The frequency equation of Rayleigh surface waves is derived and various particular cases are discussed. The different characteristics namely attenuation coefficient, specific loss, penetration depth, and phase velocity are presented graphically with respect to frequency.
