ABSTRACT

Semi-coke powder was selected as the conditioner to improve waste-activated sludge (WAS) dewaterability. The specific resistance to filtration (SRF) of the conditioned WAS with 250% semi-coke powder declined significantly from 1.47 × 1013 m/kg to 1.82 × 1011m/kg, the moisture content (MC) of filter cake also obviously decreased from 87.8% to 61.3%, and the turbidity of supernatant was lowered to 1.5–3 NTU. The low calorific value of filter cake was enhanced to 22.47 MJ/kg.
