Teaching social education with and through groups

Pages 227-240 | Received 28 Dec 2018, Accepted 07 Mar 2019, Published online: 29 Mar 2019

ABSTRACT

This article presents a teaching model applied in the training of social educators under the principles of experiential learning and group work. The model is the result of an innovative teaching experience that took place with students of a bachelor’s degree program in social education at a Spanish university. In addition to providing an education and training paradigm in social education with groups, the model promotes learning through groups and shows positive results that can be extended to other subjects in higher education in the social field both in Spain and in other international contexts.
