Sex Education and the Sexual Anxiety of Medical Students

Pages 29-32 | Published online: 22 Jan 2015

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine: 1) if participation in a medical sex education course reduces sexual anxiety among medical students and 2) if changes in sexual knowledge and sexual attitude are related to changes in sexual anxiety. Data gathered from 223 medical students revealed that sexual anxiety was not significantly reduced following participation in a sex education course. In addition, neither changes in sexual knowledge nor changes in sexual attitude were related to sexual anxiety.
