Three new species of the Pygmephoroidea (Acari: Neopygmephoroidae, Scutacaridae) from southern Chile

Abstract

Two new species of mites of the family Neopygmephoridae – Pseudopygmephorus longisetosus sp. nov. and Bakerdania sphagneti sp. nov. – and one of the Scutacaridae – Diversipes sineunguibus sp. nov. (Acari: Pygmephoroidea) – are described from mosses and litter from southern Chile. The genus Pseudopygmephorus Cross, 1965 is recorded from Chile for the first time.
