From the Neotropical Region (Argentina, Paraguay, Brasil and Panama), 18 species and subspecies of terrestrial and amphibious Oligochaeta were studied. They are distributed onto 8 genera of 4 families as follows: Ocnerodrilidae: Eukerria eiseniana (Rosa, 1895), E. saltensis (Beddard, 1895), E. subandina (Rosa, 1895), E. cuca, sp.n., E. tucamana Cordero, 1942, Belladrilus (B.), jimi, gen.n., sp.n., B. (B.) pocaju, sp.n., B. (San‐tomesia) emilianii, subgen.n., sp.n., Ocnerodrilus occidentalis Eisen, 1878, Ilyogenia comondui Eisen, 1900, Gordiodrilus habessinus Michaelsen, 1913. Acanthodrilidae: Microscolex dubius (Fletcher, 1887). Octochaetidae: Dichogasteraffinis (Michaelsen, 1890), D. bolauibolaui (Michaelsen, 1891), D. modiglianii (Rosa, 1896), D. saliens (Beddard, 1892), D. servi Righi & Ayres, 1975. Megascolecidae: Metaphire californica (Kinberg, 1867).
