Assessment of Visual Processing Disorders in Children with Other Disabilities

Pages 158-161 | Published online: 20 Jul 2009

Abstract

Visual processing disorders are a common hidden problem of children with a more visible disability, which is considered to be the primary disability even if it may affect the development and learning of the child less than his impaired vision. Early diagnosis, early intervention and thorough assessment of visual processing problems require transdisciplinary working of physicians, child's therapists and teachers, orthoptists, vision rehabilitation optometrists, psychologists, and early intervention and rehabilitation teams.
