Abstract
The world of practice is overwhelmingly represented in academic journals through the eyes of the researcher. Absent, for the most part, is the voice, views and opinions of those who work in organisations about research, and its place in their work lives. In this concluding article two practitioners, and research collaborators, draw upon the articles contained within this special edition to explore their own experience of practice and develop questions on both their own practice and that of researchers.

6. In the UK Health Service, Primary Care is a descriptor applied to non-hospital based care, often based in communities. The Starting Well project therefore fell within the broader remit of Primary Care.
