Abstract
The influence of titanium (Ti) and gallium (Ga) on photosynthesis in synchronized algae (Anacystis nidulans) has been investigated. At moderately low concentrations, Ti and Ga enhanced photosynthetic oxygen evolution and a three‐fold increase in fructose‐1, 6‐bisphosphatase activity. In the presence of Ti, growth as determined by dry weight of Anacystis nidulans was increased, but not so influenced by Ga if the cultures were exposed to continuous illumination.
