While 2020 was an incredibly challenging year for everyone, Ozone: Science & Engineering had quite a nice year.
We received a record number manuscripts and have a healthy inventory of accepted papers. We utilized our full allocation of pages in OS&E.
We experienced minimal delays in delivering the hard copy of OS&E and no delays in delivering the online version.
We have started receiving COVID-19 related papers, have already published three and are publishing more in 2021.
Our Associate Editors Dr. J (Hans) van Leeuwen and Prof. Chedly Tizaoui have greatly reduced the processing times for submitted manuscripts.
We saw an increase in our Journal Impact Factor from 1.253 to 2.082.
We added several new members to the OS&E Editorial Board to help us improve in areas where we were short of reviewers. We had some members retire from the Editorial Board and we thank them for their service.
In 2020, Ozone: Science & Engineering published 53 peer-reviewed papers comprising 587 pages written by 232 authors from 26 countries. A sampling of the topics covered follows:

It requires a large panel of experts to peer-review papers with such diverse topics. For this purpose, we have the Associate Editors and Editorial Board of OS&E. These world-wide experts on ozone technology are responsible for the success of OS&E. Being recognized as a peer-reviewed journal puts OS&E in a special place on the list of the many technical journals available.
With the increasing demands on everyone’s time, it is a considerable challenge for our Associate Editors and Editorial Board to find time to provide the valuable reviews of the articles submitted to OS&E for publication. They do not take their responsibility lightly, and not all papers submitted are accepted because they do not meet the technical standards required of our journal. Their efforts are very much appreciated, because without their contributions, we would not have a technical journal.
