Abstract
This study explored the experiences of women suffering from infertility and the effects of a psychodrama-based intervention on their psychosocial well-being. Twelve women included in the study participated in 3-h psychodrama group therapy sessions once per week for 10 weeks. In-depth interviews were assessed according to Colaizzi’s phenomenological method. Results from the analyses revealed three themes: 1) negative experiences, 2) change, and 3) hope for future. These themes should be taken into account in mental support services for women suffering from infertility. Women experiencing infertility difficulties should direct their attention to social roles other than motherhood.
