Data-Based Dominance

Pages 341-366 | Published online: 14 Aug 2013

SYNOPTIC ABSTRACT

This paper examines certain dominance rules for comparisons of alternatives on the basis of limited historical data. These rules are useful in the context of performance evaluation, and for comparisons of uncertain prospects for which some historical data are available. Relationships of data-based dominance rules to utility models are studied. Similarities and differences between these rules and other types of dominance are also examined.
