Pages 120-134 | Published online: 01 Apr 2016

Abstract

The refitting of lithic artifacts from Area 22/D, Boxgrove has established that the artifact concentrations were not merely the result of natural disturbances, but surviving evidence related to hominid activity. The reconstruction of flake reduction sequences, analysis of soft and hard hammer percussion modes, and Observation of the spatial distribution of lithics across the landscape have provided important information regarding the Organization of these early humans in the production of stone tools.
