Additional information

Daniel Galland is Associate Professor of Urban and Regional Planning at Aalborg University, Denmark. He is actively involved in diverse European and intercontinental academic and professional planning-related networks such as AESOP, ESPON, FIG, RIDEAL, RSA and SACRPH. He is a representative and contact point for AESOP in Denmark and is the Danish delegate to the Spatial Planning and Development Commission at FIG. His most recent research and publications deal with the evolution of Danish spatial planning policies, planning roles and institutional arrangements, metropolitan planning and governance, territorial rescaling and urban redevelopment. In recent years, he has been visiting professor at McGill University, the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the Catholic University of Chile.

Michael Tophøj Sørensen is Associate Professor of Land Management and Head of the School of Architecture, Design and Planning at Aalborg University, Denmark. His research interests and teaching areas include urban planning and urban regeneration, public participation in planning decisions, planning policy-making and implementation processes, and retail development and planning policy. He is a representative for AESOP in Denmark, Danish delegate to the FIG Professional Education Commission, and has been a member of the International Academic Association on Planning, Law and Property Rights. In 2007, he was visiting researcher at the Tokyo Institute of Technology.
