Social media as a social capital for academic research

Abstract

Social media is a widely acclaimed source of gathering information in present time but the authenticity & credibility is its major issue. This paper is investigating about the use of social media for academic research by faculties and scholars. This paper is able to establish social media as a social capital or research capital for academic research. SEM technique was use to test the model and generate conclusion. 278 respondents participated for the study. Independent variables were perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, intention to used and dependent variable is social capital.
