Abstract
A coprime factorization approach to H ∞ controller design for multiple state‐delayed systems is developed. The coprime factors generated by the present factorization possess the same delayed states as those of the original systems. This property, together with the well‐known Youla parametrization and the chain‐scattering matrix setting, provides a relatively simple method to obtain a family of H ∞ internally stabilizing output feedback controllers. A numerical example is given to demonstrate the validity and the applicability of the proposed approach.
