Abstract
Microwave-power meters, in general are supplied with coaxial bolometer mounts. The calibration factor, Kc, and the effective efficency, ηe of these mounts as specified by the manufacturer are susceptible to change with time and usage. Also, whenever a sensing element is replaced, a recalibration of the mount for its Kc and ηe becomes essential. Techniques have been established for the calibration of coaxial bolometer mounts against primary standard bolometer mounts. The calibration has been carried out at 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, and 10.0 GHz. The total transfer uncertainty excluding the systematic uncertainty of the standard mount lies within ± 1.0% depending upon the frequency of calibration and VSWR of the mount to be calibrated.
