In the original book review, the following was noted: ‘Of the 13 chapters, 4 are written by women, and again, one African author, a man, and no African women.’ It was subsequently brought to our attention that there was in fact an African woman author.
We have therefore corrected this omission as follows:
Of the 13 chapters, 4 are written by women, one of them the Mozambican co-editor, and one chapter is written by an African man. Surely, in a field that unpicks the legacies of imperial, patriarchal, anthropocentric colonialism and how it positions African women in the social and knowledge hierarchies, more African women could be invited to speak for themselves?
