Ellen Moore
Ellen Moore received her PhD in Social and Cultural Studies in 2014 from the Graduate School of Education at the University of California, Berkeley. She has taught courses in Anthropology, Education and Social Welfare at the University of San Francisco and at San Francisco State University, and courses for transfer and re-entry students at the University of California, Berkeley. She is a Fellow at the Slow Science Institute and a Visiting Scholar at the Institute for the Study of Societal Issues at the University of California and works as a social worker for recent immigrants at La Clinica de La Raza in Oakland, CA. Her book, Grateful Nation: Student Veterans and the Rise of the Military Friendly Campus, was published by Duke University Press in 2017. She is embarking on a new project examining the links between the wars in Central America during the 1980's and current immigration patterns and experiences.
