In the article ‘Variable versus constant power strategies during cycling time-trials: Prediction of time savings using an up-to-date mathematical model’ by G. Atkinson, O. Peacock and L. Passfield in volume 25, issue 9 of this journal, there was an incorrect passage on page 1004. The correct passage should read as follows:
‘For the same conditions that were modelled by Jeukendrup and Martin (2001), the time to complete their 40-km time trial at a mean power of 289 W was 3501, 3486, 3478 s, and 3470 s when power was varied by 0, +5, +10, and +15%, respectively, using the most effective strategy for power variability (i.e. increasing power on hills and into the 10-km headwind section, and vice versa).’
In the manuscript as published, the data is written as 1501, 1486, 1478 and 1470.
