In addition to our book reviews, the journal encourages contributions in the form of a “review essay”. Review essays are longer than standard book reviews (between 1 and 2,000 words), and use a single book or group of books as a starting point for an essay on a subject of interest to our readers. This could be discussion of a clinical issue, or more general treatment of a topic relevant to psychotherapy in public sector healthcare or public life. We encourage authors of review essays to bring themselves into the writing, drawing on their own clinical or research experience in relation to the topic under consideration. If you are interested in contributing a review essay please contact the book reviews editor, Dr Arabella Kurtz ([email protected]), to discuss your proposal.
