Abstract

For the preparation of complex curve coatings via the high-energy micro-arc spark-computer numerical control deposition (HEMAS-CNCD) process, an equi-arc length deposition approach is presented and realised by proposing a new interpolation method of the fixed step plus golden section interpolation (FS + GSI). The simulations and experiments show that the FS + GSI method can carry out the equi-arc length deposition of complex curve coatings with high precision. The AlCoCrFeNi high-entropy alloy coatings are prepared via HEMAS-CNCD using three sets of process parameters. The results of scanning electron microscope and X-ray diffraction show that the three coatings are composed of hexagonal close packed solid solution (as a matrix phase) and body-centred cubic solid solution (as a minor phase).
