Psychological morbidity in unexplained infertility

Abstract

The emotional demands of being diagnosed as infertile can vary enormously between individuals. Can psychological distress lead to fertility problems? The response to a diagnosis of infertility may be an important factor for overall fertility and conception rates as well as having financial implications for the management of this common problem. Factors associated with invasive investigation and physical treatments are considered. Possible psychological interventions are reviewed.
