Per Eklund

This paper1 is based on a recent research report into the current provision of and potential for developing distance higher education in three central European countries carried out for the European Distance Education Network (EDEN) supported by funding from the Tempus Programme of the European Community. Per Eklund was at the time of the study, President of the Swedish Association for Distance Education, based at the University of Umeå, Sweden. He now works for the Nordic Council of Ministers, based in Copenhagen. Ger van Enckevort is Head of the Department of Research and Evaluation, Open universiteit, Netherlands. Keith Harry is Director of the International Centre for Distance Learning, based at the Open University, UK. Greville Rumble was, at the time of the study, Regional Director, East Anglian Region, The Open University, UK
