The following article has been retracted from publication in Journal of Education Policy:

The Editors of Journal of Education Policy and its Publishers, Taylor & Francis Ltd. have been alerted to a violation of ethical and professional standards whereby the work of Bill Boyle and Marie Charles was found to be substantially similar to an earlier published work: Tightening the Shackles: the continued invisibility of Liverpool’s British African Caribbean Teachers, Journal of Black Studies, Vol. 42:3, 427–435.

This represents a breach of the Warranties made by Bill Boyle and Marie Charles to the Editors and the Proprietors in the Article Publishing Agreements.

The Editors and the Publishers of Journal of Education Policy accepted the article in good faith and welcome this opportunity to correct the Scholarly Record.
