London business angels: Boosting investment in the equity gap

Pages 318-322 | Published online: 20 Aug 2006

Notes

This fund invests alongside business angels, on the same terms up to a maximum of £100,000 per investment, with cash provided by the Department of Trade and Industry (Small Business Service). The fund enhances the investment capacity of the angel network. London Business Angels developed the model that is now being extended to other networks in the UK. Such public/private funds are also known as ‘side-car’ funds.
